Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. Please fill out the Volunteer Registration form to sign up. Volunteers can support anonymously if that os preferred. Here are several ways people might volunteer to support Parents Care and contribute to its mission:

  1. Attend and Monitor School Board Meetings: Volunteers can attend or watch school board meetings and take notes, helping keep the community informed about important decisions and discussions.

  2. Research and FOIA Requests: Volunteers can assist in researching school policies, budgets, and performance data or submit Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to gather critical information on school operations and spending.

  3. Outreach and Community Engagement: Volunteers can organize or attend community events, distribute informational materials, or have conversations with other parents to spread awareness about key school issues.

  4. Content Creation: Individuals with writing, graphic design, or social media skills can help create and manage content that communicates our goals, accomplishments, and updates to the community.

  5. Write an OP-Ed: We welcome and publish diverse perspectives concerning our core issues.  We invite submissions even if they are not consistent with our own policy preferences.  The important thing is that your voice is heard. We prefer attribution but will publish anonymous pieces on a case-by-case basis.

  6. Data Analysis: Volunteers with a background in data analysis can review school performance data, budgets, and other relevant information to identify trends and help inform the group’s advocacy.

  7. Public Relations and Media Outreach: Volunteers can assist with drafting press releases, contacting local media, and helping maintain positive community relations to enhance the group’s visibility and credibility.

  8. Organizing Educational Events or Workshops: Volunteers can help plan informational events, such as workshops on understanding school finances or discussions on educational standards, that equip parents and community members with knowledge to advocate effectively.

  9. Legal and Policy Advisory: Individuals with experience in law, education policy, or school administration can offer guidance on legal matters, school policies, or educational standards that impact the group’s work.

By engaging in these roles, volunteers play a vital part in fostering accountability and enhancing the educational environment for students in Lake Forest.
