Welcome to the Parents Care Data Hub
Introduction
At Parents Care, we believe in the power of transparency and the importance of providing families and taxpayers with a complete, accurate, and accessible understanding of our local schools.
The Lake Forest Public School District plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our community, but too often, critical information about academic performance and financial spending is either selectively highlighted, inaccurately reported, or difficult to locate.
That’s why we created this Data Hub—a centralized resource designed to give stakeholders a clearer, fuller picture of how our schools are performing and how resources are being utilized.
Purpose and Scope
The Parents Care Data Hub is a live and evolving repository of facts and figures that go beyond what is published by the school district or available through the Illinois State Board of Education’s (ISBE) website. While the ISBE site serves as a vital source of information, it can be cumbersome to navigate and has, at times, presented conflicting data.
Our goal is to simplify this process and supplement these resources by providing:

-
Unfiltered Academic Performance Data: Including key metrics such as test scores, graduation rates, and achievement gaps.

-
Financial Transparency: Highlighting spending trends, per-student costs, and the allocation of resources between administrative functions and classroom instruction.

-
Comparative Insights: Contextualizing district performance against state and regional benchmarks.

-
Updates and Corrections: Prompt notifications when discrepancies in publicly available data are identified and schools or state agencies update their figures.
A Collaborative Effort
This Data Hub is maintained by a small volunteer team committed to accuracy and transparency. While we strive for excellence in presenting the most reliable and up-to-date information, we acknowledge that this is a work in progress. We depend on the community to help us achieve our goal of creating a trustworthy and comprehensive resource.

-
Ongoing Growth: As we continue to analyze new data and gather additional insights, the Data Hub will expand and evolve.

-
Corrections Policy: If data inaccuracies are discovered, whether due to source errors or oversight, we will issue clear corrections and update the affected content promptly. No more "quiet corrections" from the Lake Forest School Administration; we will report and update with integrity.

-
Community Engagement: We invite you to be a part of this effort. If you notice discrepancies or have additional information to share, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Your input is invaluable in ensuring the integrity and usefulness of this resource.
Why This Matters
An informed community is an empowered community. By providing a balanced and transparent view of district performance and spending, the Parents Care Data Hub aims to:

-
Empower families to make better-informed decisions about their children’s education.

-
Foster accountability in the management of public funds and resources.

-
Advocate for academic excellence for all students.

Thank you for visiting the Parents Care Data Hub. Together, we can build a stronger, more transparent partnership between the schools and the community they serve.
