Parents Care exists to cut through spin and share the truth about how our schools are really performing. District 115’s recent email praised Lake Forest High School’s 2025 results — but the full data tell a different story. ACT scores have dropped since 2017, and claims of “improvement” rely on invalid conversions. Our mission is to keep reporting the full picture — honest, factual, and transparent.

The Illinois AG’s PAC ruled Superintendent Matthew Montgomery’s administration violated FOIA by improperly hiding public records. This isn’t a slip-up—it’s a violation of the law. How many times has this happened before, quietly brushed aside? District 67’s talk of “transparency” is a farce. If they can’t follow the law, how can parents trust them with our children?

Since Parents Care launched in 2022, academic performance in Lake Forest has surged. LFHS led peer schools with a 7% SAT gain, while District 67 posted a 33% IAR increase—the highest among North Shore districts. The common factor? Community oversight. Transparent, engaged accountability drives results. Lake Bluff, without this model, lags behind. The lesson is clear: oversight works, and every student deserves it.

Lake Forest Schools have become addicted to consultants—hiring outside firms for HR crises, PR spin, and even to survey their own performance. When asked how many consultants they’ve employed, the district said the number was too “voluminous” to count. Taxpayers are footing the bill while accountability disappears. It’s time to demand leadership that invests in students, not bureaucracy.
