In light of the $180,000,000.00 in new property taxes, the generous administrative raises (including 23% to Dr. Matthew L. Montgomery- that passed before the referendum vote had even been formally approved), and lip service to "fiscal responsibility" that came at the expense of students (by cutting teaching assistant positions), we understand how frustrated and angry you are!

What You Can Do To Help

Nowhere have we felt this frustration more than from the numerous people who voted "yes" on the bond referendum and felt duped.

The #1 question we have been receiving is: "What can I do?"

We hear you and want you to know that this summer will be crucial for Parents Care as we organize the community toward meaningful action to create enduring change.

In the meantime, here are some suggested actions you can take:

Email or Call Your Elected Board Representatives

Express how you feel! At the bottom of this email, you can find contact information for the entire Board and individual members. Remember: these individuals elected to represent YOU need to hear how you feel to represent you effectively.

Spread the Word!

One of the most powerful things you can do is to communicate information to your friends, family members, and neighbors. It could be as simple as making a phone call or sending a text message, forwarding one of our emails, or encouraging others to signup for our emails at

Attend Board Meetings and Speak Up!

Do not underestimate the impact of community attendance at Board meetings and delivering short addresses during public commentary. You can find the dates for future Board meetings for D115 here or D67 here.

Join us on Facebook!

Thanks to the influence of our executive director, word has spread across the country of what we three dads are doing in our community, and we have grown to over 14,000 Facebook followers. You can like and follow our page for updates here and join our exclusive and private community group here.

Please note: while we cannot verify the legitimacy of these rumors, a handful of individuals have suggested that some have discussed demonstrations outside of Board members' houses. We want to emphatically state that we do NOT under any circumstances condone such behavior!

Thank you for all that you do!
